do you have a best friend?


I do, for sure!

(Happy May, by the way! We’re making it to longer, sunnier days!)

Friendship is key in the reduction of stress, which is important in all aspects of health–keeping us from getting sick, reducing levels of cortisol (that pesky stress hormone that seems to be tied in to everything horrible for health these days), just keeping us happy in general… And even if you don’t talk with your friend constantly, just knowing they’re there for you gives us a mental boost.

I know my friend is there, for sure. I live with him, and love him to pieces. In a few weeks, we’ll be celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary… and in some ways, it feels like just yesterday.

In fact, just last weekend, he had a to-do list a mile long… but prominent on that list was an important item–“hug Brooke”. Yeah, we’re like that.

So, for sure, go and talk to your friends, spend more time with them, and your stress will melt away… I can almost guarantee!
